About Celvari

The EV transition decision, quantified

Celvari uses DOE AFLEET methodology, EPA fuel economy data, EIA energy prices, and Monte Carlo simulation to answer the question every car buyer asks: should I switch to electric? We model the true total cost of ownership -- purchase price, fuel, charging, battery degradation, incentives, maintenance, and resale value -- so you can decide with confidence instead of guesswork.

The Problem

Switching from gas to electric is one of the most complex vehicle purchase decisions a consumer can make. Sticker price is misleading -- it ignores federal and state incentives, drastically different fuel costs, lower EV maintenance, battery degradation risk, home charger installation, higher EV insurance premiums, and state-specific registration fees. Online calculators offer simple arithmetic with no depth. Government tools exist but lack personalization. Most buyers are making a $30,000-$80,000 decision based on incomplete data.

Our Approach

We ingest vehicle specifications from EPA fueleconomy.gov, electricity rates from NREL and EIA, gasoline prices from EIA, incentive eligibility from DOE AFDC and the IRS, and battery degradation curves from DOE/Argonne and the Geotab 22,700-vehicle dataset. For each vehicle comparison, we run a Monte Carlo simulation of 10,000 scenarios to produce a complete cost distribution -- expected cost, break-even year, and worst-case outcomes -- so you can make a decision that matches both your budget and your risk tolerance.

Our Values

Federal Data Only

We use only authoritative DOE, EPA, EIA, and NREL data sources. Every cost estimate traces back to published federal datasets -- no proprietary black boxes.

No Agenda

We are not an EV company or an oil company. We have no financial incentive to steer you toward gas or electric. The math speaks for itself.

Honest Uncertainty

We do not sugarcoat projections. Monte Carlo simulations show expected costs AND worst-case scenarios so you can plan for both outcomes.

Developer-First

Every feature available to consumers is also available through our REST API. Build EV transition analysis into your own dealer or fleet applications.
